10 Signal Types
Zone Break — Detects confirmed shifts in market structure with built-in anti-whipsaw protection. When the trend changes direction, Zone Break catches it — not on a guess, but on a decisive move that clears multiple validation layers. Colored zone backgrounds show the current trend structure at all times.
Slingshot — Catches the first burst of a new directional move. Faster and more aggressive than Zone Break, Slingshot gets you positioned early when momentum ignites. Independent filtering gives you full control over its behavior.
Reversal — The most selective signal in the system. Requires multiple independent market dimensions to converge on the same bar before it fires. When Reversal triggers, the market is speaking clearly. High conviction, low frequency.
Continuation — The second-chance entry. When a high-conviction setup gets blocked by a nearby level, Continuation waits for institutional participation to confirm the move has legs — then fires. The backup plan that catches what Reversal misses.
EMA Breakout — Confirmed breakout through a key dynamic level backed by institutional volume. Filters out the fakes and only fires when real participation is behind the move.
Aggressive EMA — First-mover entry at a critical level break. Gets you positioned before confirmation, with its own dedicated risk profile for tighter management. Built for traders who want the earliest entry.
Breakout — Catches structural failures. When the market’s architecture breaks, this signal positions you on the new direction before most traders even see the shift.
Trend Cycle Wave — Reads the market’s natural rhythm waves using proprietary oscillator timing. Fires at cycle extremes when momentum is turning. A completely different edge from price-based signals.
CrossFire — Multi-dimensional convergence signal. Fires only when several independent market conditions align simultaneously. Rare, deliberate, and high conviction. The consensus signal.
Volume Aggressive — Detects sudden institutional participation. When the big players step in, this signal puts you on their side. Dedicated risk management profile ensures these high-energy entries are handled with precision.
Control entire categories with six checkboxes: Zone, Reversal, Breakout, Cycle, Momentum, and Aggressive (all signals). Switch from trend-following to mean-reversion with one click as market conditions change.
Active Trade Management
Sentinel’s automated signals handle most entries. But when you see a setup yourself, four manual entry buttons put you in the market instantly.
Â
BUY UP / SELL DOWN — One-click breakout entries placed at one tick above the last bar’s high or one tick below the last bar’s low. The setup develops, you click, and you’re positioned on the break. No typing prices.
BUY CLICK / SELL CLICK — Precision placement anywhere on the chart. Click the button and your mouse becomes an order tool. A preview line follows your cursor in real time, showing you exactly where the order will land. Left-click to place. Right-click to cancel. Sentinel automatically determines whether to place a stop or limit order based on current price — no order type selection needed.
Â
When you go manual, Sentinel steps aside. Automated signals pause automatically to prevent conflicts with your position. Click TRADING ON to resume when you’re ready to hand control back.
Once you’re in a trade, the sidebar transforms into a position management console. Every button has an immediate effect on your active position.
Â
Move to Break Even — One click moves your stop to entry price. A configurable offset lets you lock in a small profit instead of flat breakeven — enough to cover commissions and then some. Get in the habit of using this aggressively. Once the trade moves in your favor, protect it.
Â
Flatten — Emergency exit. Closes your entire position at market, immediately. Stops removed. Targets removed. Position gone. When something unexpected happens — news spike, flash move, gut feeling — press the button. Don’t hesitate.
Â
STOP ± / TGT ± — Tick-by-tick adjustments to your stop-loss and profit target. Each click moves the level by a fixed number of ticks. Tighten your stop as the trade moves in your favor. Widen your target if you see the move has room to run. Precise, predictable, and fast.
Â
ATR Stop / ATR Target — Set your stop or target based on a multiple of current market volatility. Each click cycles through multipliers — 0.25x, 0.50x, 1.0x, 1.5x, 2.0x, 2.5x — and applies immediately to your active position. The button displays the exact tick value before you click, so you always know what you’re getting. Stop and target multipliers are independent, giving you full control over your risk-to-reward ratio. Multiple targets scale proportionally — if you have a two-target ATM, both targets adjust in proportion automatically.
Not every signal should use the same stop and target. Sentinel gives you four dedicated ATM slots:
Â
Main ATM — Used by most signals. Your standard risk profile.
Aggressive ATM — Dedicated to early-entry signals that need tighter management.
Vol Aggressive ATM — Dedicated to volume-driven entries where follow-through characteristics differ.
Manual ATM — Used when you place orders yourself via BUY/SELL buttons. Falls back to Main if not set.
Â
Each signal type routes to its assigned ATM automatically. You configure them once; Sentinel uses the right one every time.
When a signal fires, Sentinel draws projected stop and target lines directly on the chart using ATR-based calculations. Each line shows the distance in ticks, the dollar equivalent, and the risk-to-reward ratio. You can evaluate the quality of every setup at a glance before a single dollar is committed. Lines auto-remove when price reaches either level, keeping your chart clean as the session progresses.
Volatility Shield
Green — Normal Volatility. Conditions match recent history. Stops are appropriately sized. Signals have room to work. Trade with confidence.
Yellow — Low Volatility. Market is quieter than usual. Follow-through may be weak. Exercise caution.
Red — High Volatility. Market is moving significantly more than normal. Stops may be too tight. Strongly consider stepping aside.
Dark Red — Extremely Dangerous. News spikes, flash moves, circuit breaker territory. Do not trade.
Smart Trader watches the Volatility Shield color and automatically controls the trading switch. When conditions become unsafe, it turns trading off. When conditions recover, it turns trading back on. No hesitation, no emotional override.
Green Only Mode — Most conservative. Trade only in normal volatility.
Green + Yellow Mode — Default. Trade in normal and low volatility. Only red pauses trading.
All Modes — Lightning bolt stays visible for monitoring but never pauses trading.
The lightning bolt icon next to the strategy name confirms Smart Trader is active and engaged. Set your mode, enable the bolt, and let it enforce the boundaries you’d want to enforce yourself.
